Greek philosophers 2000 years ago believed that all beings and matters in the world are composed of four elements: water, air, earth, and fire. In addition to the object’s properties, they attributed the peoples’ mood, and health to the type of these elements’ composition. Due to the scientists’ efforts, from the 17th century till now, we know that all substances are made up of chemical elements. Elements such as carbon, oxygen, sulfur, hydrogen, etc. 150 years ago, Dmitri Mendeleev, a Russian chemist, and teacher, devised the periodic table — a comprehensive system for classifying the chemical elements. These 118 elements play an important role in our daily life and even in the future.

INMOST with a  mission to popularize science among society, for the 150th anniversary of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements, has formed an event called #Jadvaliof for high school students. The students can learn a lot about the importance of the elements in a friendly and happy atmosphere through competition, games, and entertainment. By 4 actors who act in roles of water, air, earth, and fire (4 ancient elements), students will learn about 118 chemical elements. They also can watch movies, play games and compete and in each game, they collect some points (diamonds). The winner who collects most of the diamonds will receive the gift.

In this event, which is designed in five stations, you will learn about different parts of the human brain. By playing various games and activities, you can get to know the parts and structure of the human brain and its functions. You can also hear about neurons’ structure and how nerve messages are transmitted to other body organs, or test your short-term memory in various games. With augmented reality, you can travel inside the brain and become surprised by the effect of stress and fear on your brain in an exciting game.

In 2019, thousands of ceremonies for the 150th anniversary of the “Periodic Table” were held all over the world. Dmitri Mendeleev devised the periodic table – a comprehensive system for classifying chemical elements. Elements like Sodium, Magnesium, Iron, etc. make thousands of substances around us.

The periodic table is a great help to chemists, physicists, biologists, and other scientists who try to make a better life for humans; But INMOST intends to hold this event in a different way. we want to look at it from a different perspective. we try to know this table better through games, entertainment, and other exciting activities and become more familiar with the importance of the elements in our lives.

By participating in this event, you can play and at the same time, learn more about the periodic table and its elements, compete, and take photos with the elements!

Activities designed for the event:

Elemental Jenga

Test your skills in balancing the giant tower of elements with the exciting game of Jenga! In this game, you will get to know the elements that have common features.

Mendeleev Golf

Conquer periodic table groups on a golf course with your flags! Pass the elements through the obstacles and get them to their groups in the periodic table.

Elemental snake and ladder

Watch out the snakes and invisible stairs! Choose a group of elements and try to reach the last element of your group on the big snake and ladder screen.
